Amani is here!!! (pics inside)

Naming ceremonies are very popular in Nigerian culture.  It is called many different names depending on the tribe.  In the Yoruba tribe, my tribe, it is also called Isomoloruko!  This day is such a joyous occasion.  On this day, the parents, relatives, and the community come as one to pray for the baby and the name chosen by the parents is announced to everyone with the meaning.  Honestly, this is by far my fav occasion.  This day, my husband and I presented our intentional prayers for our baby to God.  Remarkable right?!

Amani means aspirations and desires.  Thank you Lord for her life.  I pray for continuous good health and prosperity over her life. May she find her purpose early in life.  Give us the tools to be the best parents we can be and nourish her spirit. Thank you Lord. I am forever grateful for Ibrahim, Amir, and Amani. In Jesus name, Amen.

My prayer was similar to the one I did for Amir where I was intentional and pure as I could be.  I prayed for her from head to toe.  I was told my prayer was long. LOL!  I find myself praying longer and in depth these days as a mom and wife.  I am sure a lot of parents can relate.

I am so grateful for everyone who made it.  We of course finished the night with good food and music.  Check out the pics below and feel free to leave a comment.  Love yall!
